Greetings from Africa....er...Florida!

My family and I are on vacation for a week in the magical world of Disneyworld in Florida.....though it really feels like we are on safari in Africa! We are staying at the amazing Animal Kingdom Lodge. It is an amazing hotel with a 33 acre game sanctuary as art of the experience. We had hoped to catch a glimpse of the Giraffes (Sarah's current favorite animal) and boy, did we! Both nights we had them eating and laying down just outside out room....less than 50 yds away! We have also a Roan Antelope, some Impalas, and a herd of Zebras...it is so cool! A group of Maribou Storks like to hang out at the little pond and an Ostrich wandered nearby as well.

After a long (all night) but uneventful flight, we settled in to the hotel, had some lunch and then headed to Magic Kingdom for just a couple of hours. Had to keep up the tradition of our first ride being The Haunted Mansion! On my first time to Disneyland *cough* years ago. my first ride was Haunted Mansion. Last year with the family, our first ride was also Haunted Mansion. We decided we would make that our family tradition. Got a great idea for a mini while on the ride.....




Friday was spent at the Typhoon Lagoon Water Park. Wet and wild times....well...I spent most of it in an innertube floating on the Lazy River....ahhhhh...

Saturday was Sarah's birthday so it was her choice as to where we go. Sooooo, we were off to Animal Kingdom! Even did the Everest Rollar coaster.... more on that on a later post....


Today we spent a couple of hours at Epcot in the morning and then came back to go to the other water park - Blizzard Beasch. Raining a bit, so a water park is a good choice....doesn't matter if we get wet!

Whoops!, before I forget, the kit for the On a Roll Mini Album (a rolling suitcase with album inside) kits will go up on Tuesday and will start shipping as soon as I get back on Friday. Times will be the usual staggered times of 10am, 4pm, and 7pm Pacific Time (have me phone alarms set to remind me...) There will be two versions - Check In by Kaisercraft and Detour by Bo Bunny. The Bo Bunny Version may ship a day or two later than the other....it is scheduled to ship this week but I am not sure of the exact date.     Glad your having a good time. You should check out the boardwalk while your there. They have street performers and THE best restaurant. It is a micro brewery, but has the best food. Also there is a bakery that has some of the best sandwiches I've ever had.

    You think you are missing us....well I have been checking your blog every day (just in case) as I am sure others are, so obviously we are missing you more! lol....glad to hear the family is having a great time and thanks for posting the pix....hope Sarah had a fab b-day!...looking forward to your return...

    so glad you are seeming to "RELAX" and having some down time. glad you love the motel, I would much rather have one on the beach! lol Hope you have great times and get back home safely. Looking forward to what "IDEA"S you got from DISNEY!

    Wow, looks wonderful. Never have been to florida. My son lives in Key West, and I have a granddaughter there, however, they always come home to visit. Might have to make the trip there one of these days. Miss you, but so glad you are having family fun. Give Sarah a hug, and hope she is doing well on the the trip.

    Glad you are having a great time at "The Happiest Place on Earth" Florida. Staying at a Disney Resort when at their Parks is the best. Glad Sarah is getting to see the giraffes. Hope she had a Magical Birthday. Keep having fun with the family. Thanks for the great photos.

    So glad everyone is having a good time! It is well deserved. I agree with nanna you really should check out the boardwalk. There is an ice cream shop there that serves " the kitchen sink" you guys should go get one. It will take all four of you to eat it lol. But, it's a fun experience. And, if you like cheesecake and brownies then you will love the cheesecake covered brownie at the bakery:) okay I gotta quit talking food I'm getting hungry:)
