How I long for just a normal day....
I want to update you on the status of the following projects. Please be aware that when all of this projects were originally posted, I had no idea that "life would happen" the way that it has. I soooo appreciate all of your kindness and patience. It will all get done, just not in the time frame that I originally hoped for/intended.
Tag Swap: The last of the tags arrived yesterday and I am starting to wade through the nearly 2700 tags. Everyone has outdone themselves...the tags are awesome!! I am working as quickly as I am able to get these out to all of you as soon as I can. When I started this swap, I had hoped to hit 100 signups, thinking that may be a stretch. With nearly 330 (from nearly 200 people) sign-ups I was shocked, surprised and overwhelmed. I had boldly stated that I would send each individual a tag from me. It is VERY important to me to follow through when I make a promise.....even when it means making 200 tags! Today, I have to step back and realize that while it pains me to do so, I won't be able to fulfill that promise as I originally intended and still get the tags back in as timely a fashion as I can. I will however be creating tags for everyone.....I just won't be able to get them done in time to send back with the tag swap. Over the next few months, each individual will receive a tag....a merely ask for your patience. When/if I host another swap, I will be limiting the number of sign-ups.
Kit Status: All outstanding kits went out in yesterday's mail (with the exception of the Vintage Telephone kits...they go out be weeks end.) Just a note regarding the "Pending" or "Complete" status on my website. The kit status on the website has to do with the status of the pattern release not the status of the shipping of your kit. Your kit order will be in "Pending" status under the download link to the pattern is released to you. Once the pattern associated with the kit you ordered is published on the website, I can go in and with just two clicks per person release the download link for each person who orders the kit, thus "completing" your order . If I "complete" the order prior to the pattern being published, the pattern must be emailed to each individual that ordered a kit....taking significantly longer.
Victorian Greenhouse Ustream class and pattern: The pattern is nearly complete and it should be up on the website late today or early tomorrow. I am going to have to delay the Ustream class until next Wednesday, May 9. I have appointments regarding my kids on Wednesday that could not be scheduled for another day. The second and third classes of the Vintage Camera will be on Friday, May 4 and Saturday, May 5th as scheduled.
Everyone has been so supportive and patient while my family and I weather this speed bump. I am looking forward to just posting a fun and creative blog post instead of my tales of woe!

I completely understand about the tag thing...that's a lot of tags to deal with! It was just a whole lotta fun for me to step out of my comfort zone and do this for the first time so no worries from me! Take time to smell some roses, Laura! Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteMy goodness! 2700+ tags! And only one of you! Even with help, "That'sa lotta tags!" As one of the people who double-dipped, on the tag swap, I'm Sorry! said with a grin. I totally understand making sure children are okay. We've all been there. Love your phrase, btw, it describes life's hick-ups perfectly.
ReplyDeleteMy Victorian Greenhouse Kit arrived; I'm looking forward to the pattern download release "late today or tomorrow." So exciting! Have a good day. DoriG
Laura,
ReplyDeleteI understand how you feel about keeping your promise to make tags for us, but you are free to make one less tag for me. It was fun to participate and I look forward to seeing the tags from my group. Not receiving a tag from you would not diminish swap for me. Your gift is initiating, organizing, and the distribution. Thank you. Mary
Laura, breathe!!!
ReplyDeleteYou know we love you!!!
It's gonna be okay. Family first, then the other stuff. No one is going to die if they have to wait a few extra days.
Sending peaceful thoughts your way!!!
Wow! 2700 tags! I am so glad you didn't limit as i probably wouldn't have participated in this my first.....but sure understand about the tags you promised to make...i look forward to getting one of your tags whenever it may be...hope the doctor's appointments go well and they can help the kids...my thoughts and prayers go with you and family....hugs to all and i hope you get some time to rest!
ReplyDeleteYikes!!! Oh my goodness Laura. Your schedule exhausts me. I don't know how you keep up with it even when you don't have "Speed Bumps" in your way. I know with your personality type, you don't feel comfortable just taking a month or two break to work through everything on your plate, but I'm a little concerned about your personal health as well. Is there anyway you could take at least a week or two personal break? I think we would all understand your situation. If I lived close to you, I would come and help you with the tag sort.:(
ReplyDeleteThanks for everything you do for us, Laura. You're an amazing woman, Mother and friend. Hang in there and know we're all praying for you and your family. Just take care of everything one day at a time. xoxo
ReplyDeleteDon't worry about us,Laura, you just take care of your business. We understan."life" happens for us too. We love you and hope everything will work itself out. Now don't you fret! Hear?
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for keeping us posted. I can't wait for the green house class.
ReplyDeleteOnce again Laura, I know you apologize for life happening but we really understand. What I would have a problem with is someone not being gracious to you for all the time you give to us and realizing what you don't charge us for. For you to go out of your way to offer up FREE video tutorials and high quality patterns is a huge blessing to us all! You do what you need to do with your babies and we will wait patiently for you dear. Be well.
ReplyDeleteThank you,
Kathy Simpson
It is more about keep everyone up to date on the status of things so that I don't have to answer a zillion emails rather than apologizing. I never apologize for putting my children first. Thank you to all for the kind words as well.
DeleteWow! You have a lot on your plate. You can forego my tag. It's enough that you have to sort through 2700 of them. Thank you for all you do and don't you worry about all of us. We can wait until you've taken care of all the family happenings. We aren't going anywhere so we encourage you to take care of Laura and your family. Bless you and know that you are continually in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteI am sooooo sorry your having a rough time. I appreciate and enjoy all your ustream classes. You do so much and sometimes life gets a little overwhelming. I don't know how you do it all. Keep trudging on and it will eventually work itself out. Thanks again.
ReplyDeleteHi Laura,
ReplyDeleteYou and your family are in my prayers. I am praying that all will settle down soon.
You are a wonderful person and are always thinking of others. It is time to take care of yourself and your family.
Please don't worry, it is OK that you aren't able to make tags for us. Way too many to even think about making.
What ever you have to do as far as the schedule is fine. We just want you to be happy and healthy.
God bless all of you.
Big hugs,
cheryl

ReplyDeletePaula
You are so awesome to be thinking of us but we are thinking of you and your family. You go way beyond awesome in every aspect of your life. You are just an inspration in every sense.

You are an amazing woman and sometimes life sends us signals to slow us down a bit. This is one. Your brilliance still shines through! Love ya!!

Prayers for you and your family. Laura you give us so much . I understand what you are going through but take your time and family first. I really appreciate what you do and thankful. And the tags were so pretty , everybody did a great job. So take care Laura. Hugs! France aka medania.
ReplyDeleteAfter having so much fun making the tags for the swap, I decided to make tags for my daughter's wedding invitations. I put a picture of one on the Ning site. I'm making 170 of them and that has proven to be quite a challenge to get done. As I was working on them, I kept wondering how you could make one for each of us AND keep up with your business AND take care of your family. That's a lot of tags to make. As someone mentioned above, I'd love to get a "Laura Original" but would completely be okay if you used that time for creating more of your amazing projects and caring for your family and yourself!
ReplyDeleteMy prayers and well wishes are with you and your family. Please take care of yourself and your family first. I thank you for organizing the tag swap. It was the first one I have ever been in and was very nervous participating, but with all the kind words from you and all the other wonderful people on your ustream I decided to just go for it :) I am grateful to you and everyone because I really had alot of fun making the tags. With that said, as others have mentioned I do not have to have a tag from you and you can take me off the list of tags that you are making. It would make me just as happy knowing that you are taking that time instead for yourself and your family and not overworking yourself trying to make all the tags for everyone.

Laura, I wish you and your family a speedy and healthy recovery back to your normal life. If you still insist on making all of those tags for us, I think it would be a nice surprise in the mail whenever we do get them...,but geez that's a lot of tags.(((hugs)))
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that you popped in to give us a quick update. We all are hoping that you are feeling our sincere wishes that you will take the time needed to weather the "speed bump" as you always refer to it. Hope you are getting closer to answers on Sarah's health issues. She is such a little cutie. I pray that Trevor is also doing better. I don't envy you, those early teen years are the toughest, and I think boys have a tougher time with them then do the girls. Peer pressure and all those racing harmones can be down right exhausting!!!!! Throw health issues in the mix and it really can get overwhelming. Just remember you are not alone and if there is anything we can do, all you have to do is ask.
ReplyDeleteTake care Laura and we will see you when you are ready. I am stressed for you just thinking of 2700 tags. Although I bet is fun seeing what creations everyone has come up with.
Marcie
Laura,
ReplyDeleteSometimes like gets in the way!!! You are so conscientious about meeting your promises and obligations. But PLEASE, allow yourself this time with your kids and try not to worry about anything with us! We all love you and understand! You share so much of yourself and your talent with us, you need to not be so hard on yourself when things just can't happen when you planned. I think I speak for many of us when I say that we aren't going anywhere!!! Big hugs to you, Sarah and Trevor!
oops that should say "life" not like
ReplyDeleteChin up Laura. You are doing a great job - In fact I don't know how you do it!! Thinking of you - Helen X
ReplyDeleteLaura, I echo the sentiments in the other comments. Waiting for the tags is like waiting for Christmas morning It's all in the anticipation! I know what it's like to constantly deal with medical stuff. It can be very over whelming. Take care of yourself so we have you in the future. Sending lots of good thoughts
ReplyDeleteThank you for the updates, You and your family have become part of everyone's family. The concern and the well wishes are very heart felt by all of us. Keeping everyone in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteSue
Thank you for the update. Just got my package and am so excited to open it. This is my first order from you but have been watching your videos for a while now. So with that said, when you ran out of the kit I ordered, I ordered the pattern. You put together another few sets and i was able to purchase the kit. I read where u give credit for the pattern, but do not know how to go about doing that. Best wishes and prayers,m Lanna Dimond
ReplyDeleteJust send me an email and I will put thru the refund.
DeleteLaura take care of your family and also take care of yourself for you need to be healthy, both physical and emotional,to be there for them. I know that you say that you need to keep your promises, but most of the time life does not go as planned and we have to find ways to adjust for the changes this doe not mean that promises are not kept they are just adjusted also. Payers to you and to your family

Dear Laura,
ReplyDeleteI beleive that your followers as a group is largely made up of women, and as women we all know that our lives revolve around our kids and grandkids. When our children are hurting we automatically go into Mama Bear mode and everything else takes a back seat. I am so proud to have found this site and to know that there are women out there that work so hard for family, but are also concerned about their other obligations. Your kids will not always be kids be your business ie your followers will always be here for you. Prayers and hugs
Hi Laura, I want to thank you for thinking of us, (those of us that order from you and follow you on Ustream). Although I have not yet ordered something from you, I do watch your UStream videos. Take care of yourself and your children. Children are our gifts and we need to be strong for them. Lori
ReplyDeleteLaura you are so amazing. Truly!! I enjoy all you do for everyone that follows you!! And your design team videomformGraphic 45 was soo good too!! So you!!! Just take care of yourself and your family and enjoy every day !! Like we enjoy you!! Hugs, barbara Johnson
