On the ELEVENTH Day of Christmas....

... I made "wax" flowers for my candles!

Similar to the "Glass" flowers I have showed you in the past (Paper flowers dipped in UTEE) these paper flowers are dipped in beeswax and attached to simple plain candles.

Start by melting the Beeswax by Ranger in your melting pot

Punch or cut out your flower petals. You can also use pre-made mulberry paper flowers or leaves. Dip them in the melted wax, allowing the excess to drain off. Let them cool. Layer the flowers by lightly heating the wax with a heat tool and place the layers then allow to cool.

To attach the dipped flowers and leaves to the candle, use your heat tool to carefully melt the wax of the candle slightly and the wax of the flower. Allow to cool and harden.

Add a ribbon bow if desired. These can be made for any season...not just Christmas!

As with any candle, use caution while burning! The paper is encased in wax, but can still burn!!

Happy Holidays!

Laura

  3. Stunning flowers and leaves and such a brilliant idea. I have a big jar of the wax but havent used it yet- but will once I have more time. The local school is having a summer fair to raise funds so am starting with cards, boxes, candles, mobiles and jewellery. Anyway Laura hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas and all the Best for the New Year.

  4. I've never seen bees wax from Ranger. I'm hoping when Hobby Lobby opens 1 1/2 hours away that I can finally find some of these things!! Hope your mother-in-laws surgery went well and that she is on the road to a speedy recovery!
    Hugs!

  5. What a lovely idea! Many years ago, I dipped real, dried flowers in parafin and 'stuck' them on pillars candles. I like the idea of being able to craft my flowers instead of being limited to what real dried flowers I can find. Have a wonderful Christmas. And I'm looking forward to the New Year's Eve Bash! 7. When I was growing there was a candle shop where the lady embellished pillars with artificial flowers (then plastic) dipped in melted wax and added glitter, ribbon, etc. The aroma in the shop is one of my favorite holiday memories to this day. Happy Holidays, and keep everyone locked away for safety's sake! Cynthia
