Sarah had another CT scan today. The abscess is "resolving" but there are a few smaller abscesses around the main one. There has not been a decision regarding removing the JP drain yet as the abscesses may be "communicating". (Hey! party in Sarah's tummy!!) We will be reviewing with the doctor on Tuesday morning. She is off the IV for hydration which makes moving around easier. Big issue right now is preventing pnuemonia. (sp?)
I will never be able to express my gratitude to all who have sent their best wishes and prayers. You have no idea how much every word of encouragement and support is appreciated!! You are all the BEST!!!

We are hanging in there!!

Lots of Love!!

Laura

  1. Glad Sarah is at least off the IV hydration. The more she can move around, the less the risk of pneumonia. I continue to pray for complete and total healing for Sarah, wisdom for the doctors charged with her care, and comfort, peace and rest for you and your hubby!!! Hang in there, kiddo!!!

    Love, blessings and hugs!!

  4. Laura,
My friend and I have been following Sarah's progress. Lots of well wishes and prayers have been winging their way from VA for her speedy complete recovery!! I have 3 children--one very close in age to Sarah (not to mention all of my Girl Scouts after 13 years as a leader)---and know this must be a trying time for your family. Take care of Sarah, and yourself, and we look forward to seeing both of you on a live Ustream soon!!! :0) kspens5

  15. When I was in hospital many years ago, I had to light up a clown's nose for breathing therapy to avoid pneumonia! Moving around is so much easier. I'm hoping and praying that Sarah is soon skipping about your home. With LOTS of prayers and positive energy flowing to you and yours, DoriG

    Animo.

  26. Hey Laura, I have just recently found your youtube and UStream channels and I am sooooo glad I have. You are such a wonderful person and you inspire me so much. Right now I need a blessing in my life and you are it. I have been following your post about your daughter, Sarah and I am praying for her and for you, I know how hard it is to see you child go through any discomfort. I am putting her on our Church prayer list and praying that all is well soon. You have a calling Laura and I think you are doing it with such love and kindness. I will continue to be a faithful follower. Edith

  31. You have people all over the world praying for total healing. I know that it can't come soon enough for you guys, you've certainly had a rough time. I hope that today is a great day for all of you guys, no pneumonia, infection or cysts! I pray that Sarah is well enough to enjoy lots of candy for Halloween, poor baby.

Laura, please don't worry about everyone in cyber world. Your followers stand behind you and more than anything or any kit, we want you all to be well. Please do not fret, it will be okay. Have a wonderful day and be blessed!

  32. Laura, I began watching your Ustreams a while ago and enjoy them so much. That being said, I've also been an active caregiver. I don't know if you'll read this, but your need to connect to your normal life is so understandable. Do it as you can, but try not to be pressured by the expectation. One of the best things anyone ever told me was "normal is only a setting on the dryer." She was right. Be gentle with yourself and live in the moment. I'm sending love, prayers, and healing energy for Sarah and for your stamina, too.

    Much love,
    Barb
