Another Update! 10/24
Sarah did well yesterday until late afternoon. She seems to spike a fever late in the day, but then bounces back a bit at around 7pm. Today she gets a shower! She is not thrilled but needs it! The nurses are starting to talk about the drain coming out...we are optimistic but won't get excited until we hear it from the doctor. I will keep you all posted. All in all, she is definitely improving!!
Trevor came to visit Sarah yesterday...she would never admit it but she was happy to see him. He has been so worried about her! He is walking on his knee without crutches so is on the mend as well. Whew!!
Trev and I spent some time together on the way home (it's 45 minutes each way from home to the hospital) and made a couple of stops. I didn't get as much done on the Bats on the Belfry pattern as planned (Trevor needed the mom-time) but will finish it today and will start emailing out by evening and post it on Etsy. You have all been so patient.
Once again, I can not thank you all enough for all the well wishes and prayers!!

Sarah looks so much better in this photo Laura. I know you won't feel completely better until she is back home and through everything, but knowing she is on the mend is a relief I'm sure. I got there late for your Ustream video -- just as you were signing off, but then watched the recorded version. Take care, Karin
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear the kids are both doing better! Prayer is a wonderful thing. :)
ReplyDeleteBless her, she certainly is looking so much better. That is great news. x
ReplyDeleteSo glad that both Sarah and Trevor are improving. That afternoon fever spike seems to be "the norm" for kids' fevers. I really believe that 'rule' about a fever not being gone 'til its gone for 24 hours: my 3 always did the late afternoon fever thing. Very frustrating. And I bet Trevor discovered that crutches are a pain after the novelty wore off! Sending continued prayers and LOTS of positive energy to you and yours, DoriG
ReplyDeleteSuper glad to hear things the kids are both getting better. Sarah actually looks like she is getting the roses back in her cheeks! I am sure Trevor is not really missing those crutches after all. I am sure he really appreciated the Mom time yesterday...although they will never admit how much they need their Mom! Sending good TEXAS HUGS yours way. Beth P.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to hear Sarah is getting better, and Trevor too... Don´t think about the pattern, we can wait! Right now you need to focus on your family and we'll be here when you're back!
ReplyDeleteLots and lots of well wishings to all of you...

Sarah, you look like you are feeling SO much better today!! DoriG is so right about the way fevers spike or return in the late afternoon or evening. Glad to see you staying busy in an artsy way, Sarah! Feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteLaura, don't worry about "us'ins", just take care of you and yours (Trevor, too!!)
Hope she feels much better pretty soon and Laura you and you family and in my prayers!!!

ReplyDeleteHpefully that nasty drain can come out soon and she can come home.
Well as each passing day things seem to get better, and with all the prayers goingforyour family its not surprising. I was so glad you and Trevor got some well needed mommy/son time, you are a trooper Laura and please know we all know you spends most of your days and all of you nights at the hospital so take a breather and do only what you can, I wonder why Sarah is getting fevers at night???
