Just a thought....

Recently, I have had several requests for kits that come with instructions on how to recreate an album I have made. Is this something that has a wide appeal, or do you prefer kits that allow you to "do your own thing". Kits with instructions will need to be more expensive since they require significantly more time to put together on my part. If there is interest, this may become an every other month or quarterly item. Let me know your thoughts. Also, is there any specific themes you would be interested in for kits, either with instructions or without?

  1. I would love to see a baby kit that isnt too babyish.. Does that make sense? I want to make a mini for my daughter (1 yr old) but dont really want all the baby stuff. I think travel themed kits would be cool with spring and summer coming up

  3. I like the idea of constructing my own album with items you have put together. A kit on a Caribbean travel theme would be wonderful.

  11. I love your kits. I like to be able to add my own touch to them. I do like how you put on your blog how to cut the envelopes or what ever it is you are making. Thanks for all the work you do for putting the kits together. And I enjoy seeing how you have used the kits.

  12. Hi Chicky: Love to see you do a kit involving FABRIC, hehehehe there's a challenge!!!!. Yeah I think its a great idea, and as you say VERY TIME CONSUMING, on your part, although I would of thought, using your teaching video's was the reason, the tools are there to guide you. Having the chance to do my own take on your kits, or copy them is really the individuals choice. Well worth the Price for Kits with style and class, unquely your own Laura. Love it, and thank you for all your wonderful work and sharing your talent with us all.

  13. Hi Laura! I'm a fan of everything you do and I love to watch your videos and tutorials. Yes, I would buy kits with instructions, especially if the kits were more detailed (such as your purse album) or used a unique technique (such as your Halloween album).

My suggestions for kit ideas are Wedding; Travel (something generic like On the Road); Halloween; your Purse album; Family Reunion; Recipes/Food; Summertime; Fall; something hip and modern for teenagers; Pets (we've got both cats and dogs); and your Purse album - oh, I've already said that haven't I. ;)

    Thanks for all you do!

  15. Hi Laura,
I think kits with the instructions are better but instead of a "written" instruction, an instructional video on you tube could be just fine, especially for the foreign followers like me.
I really would love to see a baby themed mini album made by YOU --especially with the beautiful "MADELINE" collection by k and company. i love that collection. and i love your work, would be a perfect combination for me :)))

  19. Laura, you know I love your kits. I'm at the age where I don't have an original thought in my head. I would prefer instructions. I'm the case queen but I do give credit. Even if the instructions are on video and not written, that would be o.k. also because it would be easier for you.
What ever the majority want, I will go with it. I love your customer service. I received my last kit is record time and it is loaded. Thank you so much for sharing for gift with us.

  20. I would like an occasional kit with instructions and just to make life difficult for you, a video and written instructions would be nice--first choice would be written because I have a broken leg and could work in bed with written instructions.

  21. Hi Laura! I use your videos as inspiration and then twist it my own way. I would like to see a manly album without being industrial. Something I could give to my dad. Old World comes to mind....but not sure that is the theme I really want. For me, it's hard to embellish a mini for a man unless they have specific interest and even then it can be a challenge.

  22. I could never do better than you so instructions would be worth having. I'm a copycat and proud of it!

  23. I think when people by a kit it is because you want to re-create something you have seen. For many "newbies" it is also a way to get your feet wet, so-to-speak. Instructions would be nice, as not everyone is a familiar with how to do many of the things they see. As for the cost, well initially it takes a little extra time to type out instructions, but one that is done it is just a matter of copying them, so I do not think the cost should be affected that much. Personally like seeing the videos, as I am a visual person who likes to "see" things. I am able to pick up and learn from seeing a bit better than trying to decifer instructions.
I find that many kits sold never show you the finished piece, I like to see what it is supposed to be like when finished. If I were to buy a kit it would be one were I have the visual reference to guide me.
I love your work and perhaps will be able to order a kit in the future.
