Mirror, Mirror

Due to popular demand, we will be making the Hand Mirror Album from the Boudoir Tray set from last weeks G45/May Arts blog hop this weekend during my regular Ustream class on Friday and Saturday.

For class you will need:

  • A hand held mirror...any size or shape will work
  • Light chipboard or double layered card stock for pages
  • Patterned paper
  • Ribbon, flowers, bling, and lace embellishments
  • Acrylic Matte Medium
  • Acrylic Paint to paint mirror frame
Tomorrow, we will be continuing with the envelope mini's during the Ustream class  at Noon Pacific time. A different envelope style and the brad and loop binding will be featured.

I will also be showing a sneak peak of the next kitted project.....the Memories on File Album. I will use a new variation of the Stack the Deck binding - Fractured Stack the Deck. Kits for this project will be available on Thursday at 10am, 3pm, and 7pm Pacific time. There will be 4 different paper collections/versions available.....same pattern and equal embellishments, just different papers and colors. The pattern for this project will not be available until July 3rd. My web gal is out of town from Wednesday until next Monday and won't be available to put the pattern up until she returns.

Here is a little teaser.....

See you tomorrow!

Whoo Hoo!!!

The Shabby Drawers Tag Exchange is all packed up and ready to ship....finally!

This is only about 2/3's...the rest had already shipped!

Spent a good chunk of the weekend finishing up sorting and packing. They will be shipped out by Tuesday morning. I am pooped but so happy to have them on their way to you! Once again, I thank you for your patience!

For those of you who had more than one set of tags, they may/will arrive on different days. Each group you signed up for was shipped separately (that's why you paid for each group you signed up for).

Sorting was done randomly in groups of 9...assembly line style. I do not have a listing of who was in each group. That would have added a huge number of hours to an already long process.

We had a total of 334 groups of tags exchanged....that's a total of 2672 tags!! Yowzer! Hopefully I didn't goof up too many in terms of the catagories you were to go into! You all impressed me so much with the awesome quality of the tags. They were ALL beautiful!!

Thank you to the huge number of you who sent me tags and gifts. I was overwhelmed by it all! Thank you as well to those "angels" who sent extra tags....I needed and used them!

As much work as it was, it was still a ton of fun.....

Welcome Blog Hoppers!

Welcome to Day 4 of the Graphic 45/ May Arts Blog Hop!
Thank you for dropping in!

Graphic 45 and May Arts have teamed up to bring you wonderfully inspirational projects and some great prizes too! Scroll down to the end of this post to see the awesome goodies you can win!

I love May Arts ribbons....awesome quality and great colors....combine them with the BEST paper out there...Graphic 45, of course.....and you are half way there to a successful project! For this project, I combined a selection of products from the drug store to alter with the brand NEW A Ladies Diary collection to create a lovely Boudoir Tray.
This grouping included an inexpensive ornate frame,
a hand mirror, a bar of special soap, and bath products in old fashioned style bottles.

Here is the finished, altered group:

First, add patterned paper behind the glass of the frame. Paint wooden beads and attach to the bottom corners to act as feet. Add lacy ribbon along the perimeter:

Remove the existing labels from the bottles. Trace the perimeter of the tag shaped packaging from any Graphic 45 Staples item on patterned paper to create a new label. Apply the new label and add a punched paper strip, ribbon, G45 A Ladies Diary Stickers and A Ladies Diary Alphabet Stickers. A bow of wide ribbon attaches a G45 A Ladies Diary Chipboard Tags #1 to the neck of the bottles. Create a fun bottle topper from G45 Metal Flowers and G45 Metal Button Brads. Add a punched paper band, ribbon and a G45 A Ladies Diary Chipboard Tags #1 to the bar of soap.

Paint the hand mirror with a coat of acrylic medium and then a coat of metallic acrylic paint.
Attach an accordion fold album insert from the G45 Film Canister Tin. Embellish the cover with G45 Staples, flowers and bling.

Embellish the pages of the album with patterned paper, stickers and ribbon.

Create tags from G45 Staples packaging.

Materials Used:
Paper:  G45 A Ladies Diary collection in 8 x 8 and 12 x 12, G45 A Ladies Diary Stickers,

Welcome Blog Hoppers

Welcome to the

For this blog hop we used classic paper lines from Graphic 45 - Communique or Playtimes Past.

Here I have used Communique to create a vintage Mailbox as a stationary holder.

The top of the box opens to reveal a section for postage and for Cards. The lower compartment contains envelopes for the cards.

The Front of the box opens to reveal an address book

I was fun to revisit and old favorite again....sort of like getting a letter from an old friend! I will be doing this project later this summer on my Ustream show.

Leave a comment at all of the stops on the hop to be entered in a drawing for a wonderful prize package!
